Tom Brady’s life-long QB coach, Tom Martinez, died on Tuesday.
Martinez reportedly died due to a heart attack while receiving dialysis. The coach, who also worked at the College of San Mateo, had been ill for quite some time and was waiting for a kidney transplant.
He died on his birthday.
Martinez touched many lives as a coach and mentor to young athletes, a list that not only includes Brady but fellow Bay Area native and Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
The Associated Press story on Martinez’ death can be found here.

Very sad to see this. Was hoping Brady’s plea for a kidney donor was going to work out. They had a piece on Martinez before the Super Bowl. It was very touching. RIP.
